Forest Schools
At Chellow Heights School, we believe in teaching pupils in the most engaging way, often within real-world situations. For this reason, we have invested heavily in the development of the school grounds. We are very lucky to have horticultural areas on both sites. Our South Site boasts a huge allotment area, polytunnel, outdoor classroom and forest schools area. Our West Site is equipped with planting areas within a sensory garden which also benefits from luscious fruit trees and bushes.
We have a wonderful range of facilities and exciting environments within our grounds. Each classroom has it's own outdoor space to extend learning outside the classroom. Within the school grounds, we are equipped with climbing areas, bikes, trim trails and interactive road safety area.
All areas are accessible for children using wheelchairs. We also have roundabouts and swings adapted for wheelchairs.
Classes will often be found taking part in lessons within any of these areas.
We have 5 minibuses which means that pupils have the opportunity to explore our local environment. This can be as regular curriculum activities, one-off educational visits or residential opportunities. Pupils are taught about the local area and how to access the facilities available.
We believe that it is important for our pupils to appreciate and look after the world they live in.
